Brenna - Bellydance Fusion

What started as a hobby became an obsession, and after much practice and dedication she has become a performer, teacher and choreographer.
Rooted in American Cabaret Bellydance and later discovering and immersing in Tribal Fusion, Brenna is an active performer in NYC, performing in many theatrical shows, bellydance festivals and other venues each year. She has performed as a member of Sera Solstice's Solstice Ensemble, Solstice Project and East Coast Tribal Solo Salon, Altagracia's Caribbean Rose Dance Company, Ayshe's Cult of Isis Ensemble and many others. She is the director and main choreographer for her semi-pro/student troupe Zilla Dance Ensemble. She is an instructor at both Solstice Studio and Serena Studios. Overall she could be classified as a fusion bellydancer, drawing from both styles as well as movement influences from hip hop, martial arts, modern dance, jazz, flamenco, Indian dance and especially Michael Jackson who ignited her love of dance. Her creative inspirations are found in pop culture, fashion, comic books, sci fi/fantasy, mythology, nature and zombies. Past major instructors include Serena Wilson, Zenaide, Layla Mary, Rayhana, Dorit, Blanca, Najma, Ayshe, Altagracia, Sarah Johansson Locke, Dalia Carella and many others. She has also taken numerous and extensive workshops with Zoe Jakes, Mardi Love, Rachel Brice, Amy Sigil & Unmata, Heather Stants, Mira Betz and Ahmed Hussein. She is currently studying under Sera Solstice and with other instructors of Solstice Studio which began in 2007.
